Zonta Club of Cortland Accepting Nominations For The ‘24 Woman of Achievement Award

Nominations are being accepted by the Zonta Club of Cortland for the 2024 Woman of Achievement Award. Potential nominees do not have to live in Cortland, but must’ve served the local area, including Cortland, Homer, and nearby communities within the county.

The award is to honor a woman for her contributions within the community, who has improved the status of women, girls, and children. The winner for this year’s award will be celebrated during a luncheon at Tinelli’s Hathaway House in Solon on May 5th.

The Zonta Club says the award is now in its 45th year, first beginning back in 1979. On top of a celebration for the awardee, the luncheon is also a fundraiser for the organization to support agencies in Cortland County that benefit women, girls, and children. Zonta also works to provide scholarships to high school girls and women in Cortland County returning to school to further their education.

Those interested in nominating someone can find nomination forms at local libraries as well as the YWCA and YMCA. They can also contact Tracy Hartnett by calling 607-423-4198 or online by clicking on the link HERE.

All nominations must be submitted by March 3rd.
