YWCA of Cortland Seeks Presents For Over 200 Children Through Their Holiday Gift Assistance Service

The YWCA of Cortland’s mentoring program is looking for presents for over 200 children in the Cortland area through the YWCA’s Holiday Gift Assistance Campaign. The YWCA of Cortland says their Bridges For Kids, part of the mentoring program, assists local families be able to provide gifts to children during the holiday season.

“The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration; however, it can also be a time of added stress for struggling families, particularly when it comes to providing gifts,” said Mindy Gardner, YWCA Cortland’s Mentoring Director. “We designed our Holiday Gift Assistant Campaign to support families in need by providing toys, clothing, and other essential items so every child in our community has a special gift to open for the holidays.”

The YWCA says people may pick up tags from their Giving Tree within the YWCA lobby in their Clayton Ave. building in Cortland. Residents may drop off unwrapped gifts and wrapping paper rolls to the lobby prior to the end of the day on Thursday, December 12th.

Anyone who cannot shop or drop-off gifts in person can purchase gifts from the Holiday Assistance Amazon Wish List as long as the gifts are delivered by the 12th. Monetary donations are always welcome. More information on the program can be found at CortlandYWCA.org.
