YWCA Hosting Free Preview on Kingian Nonviolence Training on MLK Day

The YWCA of Cortland has announced there will be a free preview training taking place at the center on MLK Day (Monday, January 15th). The preview is for anyone who may be interested in learning more about the four-week Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation training workshop that begins in February.

The free training preview will take place on Monday from 2:00 to 3:30pm at the YWCA’s Clayton Ave. location in the City of Cortland. Currently, registration is open for the workshop, which will begin in February on Wednesdays from 9am to 12:30pm. The workshop will cost $199 for all four sessions with the proceeds going to support the organization’s mission on eliminating racism and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

“We are excited to bring this training to our community as part of our months-long participation in YWCA USA’s national Until Justice Just Is (formerly known as the Stand Against Racism) Campaign in 2024,” said Kelly Tobin, YWCA Cortland’s Executive Director. “We are just as thrilled to have our former board member, Dr. Tracy Hudson, conduct the training, which our full board was able to preview over the course of two meetings in 2023.”

The YWCA asks those interested in attending the free preview session, to RSVP by emailing Robyn@CortlandYWCA.org. More information on the February session can be found HERE.
