YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County to Support Cortland YMCA

The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County announced Friday that they are set to enter into a partnership with the Cortland County Family YMCA.

The Cortland County Family YMCA looks to gain additional staff support and expertise without losing the individuality they’ve had for over 150 years. The Ithaca YMCA will provide assistance with grant, philanthropy, and membership growth opportunities.

“Every community deserves and needs their Y,” says Christie Thornton, CEO of the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County. “The Cortland YMCA has been an important staple in their community since the 1860’s. We are very honored to be a part of sharing and continuing the work that they are so proud of.”

The partnership will begin effective July 10th, 2024. Ithaca and Cortland YMCA members should not experience any changes or disruptions in their service.
