WXHC spoke with two democrats vying for NYS Assembly:
Anna Kelles won her primary race for District 125 over six other candidates.
She now pushes forward with full support from the retiring Assemblywoman, Barbara Lifton.
A Trumansburg native, Kelles currently serves on the Tompkins County legislature and has a PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from UNC Chapel Hill.
Her opponent in November is Matthew McIntyre, a Libertarian from Cortland.
AD 125 includes all of Tompkins County, as well as the City of Cortland and the towns of Cortlandville, Virgil, Harford and Lapeer.

Dia Carabajal is a former Auburn city councilor and school board member in the race to succeed retiring Assemblyman Gary Finch in 126th district.
Carabajal was the only Democrat in the primary and is now endorsed by multiple CNY Democratic Committees, including Cortland County’s.
She was also recently backed by Francis Conole, a former Democratic candidate in the 24th Congressional District – and sitting Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli (AD-129).
Her opponent in the general election is Republican John Lemondes, who checked in with WXHC at the end of last month (listen here).
AD 126 includes parts of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland and Onondaga counties.
