Wrong Way Driver Found Drunk; Had Weapon

Back on July 8th around 3:30 in the morning the New York State Police observed a vehicle driving on State Route 13 in Cortlandville westbound while in the eastbound lane of traffic.

Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the wrong way driver and detected an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Officers asked the driver, 21 year old Ryan P. Finch, to perform a standardized field sobriety test, which then confirmed his impairment.

During the traffic stop Troopers also discovered metal knuckles, which are illegal to possess in the State of New York.

Finch was arrested and transported to SP Homer for processing. His B.A.C. was .19%. Through continued investigation it was found Finch’s drivers license was also revoked.

He was processed and released with appearance tickets to a sober third party.
