Road work on Groton Ave. between Main Street and Homer Ave. will begin today. With this, signage will be in place for motorists for detours that will be in place during the work. Road work will take place from 7:30am to 4 o’clock, with Groton Ave. reopening to traffic both ways.
Groton Ave will be only open for businesses and local residents during the day. Work on Groton Ave. will be a thorough job, with replacement of water and sewer lines beneath the street, new curbing, lighting, and traffic signals. The estimated cost for the project is around $7.6 million dollars.
The primary detour for motorists will be Woodruff Street to Madison and Clinton Ave. to North Main to Madison Street.
Updates on the project will be available at CrownCityRising.com.
