Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on McGraw Marathon Road around 8:30 in the evening on Tuesday, August 29th for a reported domestic disturbance that occurred the night before.
Reports to officers show the victim on the night of Monday, August 28th, while at the residence, was strangled after an argument. The suspect was named as 66 year old Albert M. Thompson of Cortlandville.
On Wednesday, August 30th, Thompson turned himself into the Sheriff’s Office where he was arrested and charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Misdemeanor. He was processed and arraigned through the centralized arraignment process before being released on his own recognizance.
Thompson is due to appear in Cortlandville Town later this month.
