Around 2pm on Tuesday, July 11th, Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to Country Max on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville for a reported larceny.
Through an investigation by officers, they determined 30 year old Kassey E. Roe of Cortlandville, had stolen merchandise from the store and she also got into a physical altercation with an employee of the store as she was exiting the building.
Roe fled the property in a vehicle, but was found moments later by officers. As she was being interviewed, it was also discovered that she was driving while under the influence of drugs and found to be in the possession of a controlled substance.
She was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Felony, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, both Misdemeanors, and multiple traffic infractions.
Roe was arraigned and later released on appearance tickets for her charges and is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
