A Dryden woman is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times this morning by her live-in boyfriend.
Deputies with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hanshaw Village Mobile Home Park just before 6 am, where they located a female with multiple stab wounds.
The officers then rendered immediate life-saving aid to the woman until crews with Dryden Ambulance arrived, soon after which she was flown to her current location at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Investigators say the victim fled to a neighbors house for help after she was stabbed. The man who did so was still inside the trailer when police arrived and refused to come out.
Crews with the Ithaca Special Weapons and Tactics and Critical Incident Negotiation teams were activated and established safe communication with the man, who eventually surrender himself peacefully into custody.
Officials say the man was also found to have stab wounds – he was treated by Dryden Ambulance then brought to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA for treatment.
Names are being withheld at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
Assisting at the scene were members of the New York State Police, Cayuga Heights Police, Cornell Police, Ithaca Police and Dryden Ambulance.
