A woman has been stabbed inside her own apartment after a male suspect forced his way into the apartment. The incident occurred on Monday, February 20th around 11:40 at night.
Ithaca Police responded to the residence located in the 500 block of East State Street, but the suspect was able to flee. Officers found the victim in the apartment with a stab wound in their torso.
The victim was able to give IPD a description of the suspect who is described as a 6 ‘4” white male with a medium build wearing a black hoodie and blue surgical mask. It is not believed the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Assisting in the attack was the Tompkins County Sheriff, Ithaca Fire Department, and Bangs Ambulance.
The suspect remains at large and IDP is asking members of the community to check their home surveillance cameras for a person described above.
Police continue their investigation and ask anyone with information to call the Ithaca Police Department at 607-330-0000.
