New York State Police have identified the operator of the motorcycle as 63 year old Janine T. Woodrome of Cortlandville, NY.
State Police say she suffered a medical event before she went off the roadway and collided with a guardrail.

Around 3:20 in the afternoon on Saturday, August 26th, a call came into 9-1-1 dispatch of a motorcycle crash on I81 North, just past Exit 10 (Polkville).
Responding was the Cortlandville Fire Department, TLC Ambulance, and New York State Police. Already on the scene of the crash was a crew from AMR Ambulance, who were traveling on I81 and came upon the crash.
AMR immediately rendered emergency care to the crash victim, but succumbed to their injuries while on route to a hospital in Syracuse. State Police say the victim of the crash was a woman in her 60s, her name is not being released at this time.
The preliminary investigation by Troopers show that four motorcycles were traveling northbound on I81 when for an unknown reason, one went off the road and collided with a guardrail.
State Police say the accident remains under investigation. I81 was closed for about 2 ½ hours while the investigation was being conducted. No other injuries were reported.
Additionally, the City of Cortland Fire Police provided assistance in traffic control during the closure on Cortland’s East Side.
