Around 7:40 pm on Wednesday, April 12th, New York State Police responded to a three vehicle crash near 806 Elmira Road in the Town of Ithaca.
During an investigation conducted by troopers, it was found a 2020 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound when the vehicle failed to maintain its lane. The vehicle then struck a 2015 Honda Fit which had pulled over onto the west shoulder of the road.
The Ford then entered the northbound lane and struck a 2007 Lexus. Occupants in the Honda were uninjured during the crash. The operator of the Lexus was airlifted via Mercy Flight to Upstate University Hospital and has been listed in stable condition.
The driver of the Ford, Kathy A. Fox of Newfield, was also transported to Upstate, but died from her injuries a day later (April 13th).
New York State Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
