A continued investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office of sex abuse allegations that occurred between 2021 and 2023 at an undisclosed location in the Town of Taylor has led to another arrest.
Officers arrested 54 year old Cheri L. Demott of Taylor on Saturday, September 23rd. The investigation found Demott endangered the welfare of a child by failing to protect the victim from attempted sexual abuse.
She was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor. She was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where she was arraigned and later released. Demott is due in the Town of Taylor Court next month.
