After an investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff and the Cortland County Department of Social Services arrested 43 year old Rochelle Flynn of Amherst, NY on Wednesday April 20, 2022.
Flynn was charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, a class E Felony, Welfare Fraud in the 5th degree (2 counts), a class A misdemeanor, and petit larceny (2 counts), also a class A misdemeanor.
It was reported between the months of May to November of 2021 Flynn failed to disclose required information to the Department of Social Services on her household composition which resulted receiving benefits in excess of $900 that Flynn was not entitled to.
Additionally around October 28, 2021 Flynn filed fraudulent paperwork on their household income and also failed to disclose required information on her residency which then resulted additional benefits in excess of $800 that she was not entitled to between January to March 2022.
Flynn was arraigned in the Cortland City Court on her arrest date (April 20th) and was released and scheduled to re-appear on June 1, 2022.
