A woman has been charged for a hit-and-run that killed one bicyclist earlier this year in Cincinnatus.
On June 15, four people were biking along State Route 26 when a vehicle struck two of them and did not stop.
Kitt Warren, 67, of DeRuyter, was killed in the crash. John C. Rutan, 67, of McGraw suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators later determined the driver to be 36-year-old Amber M. Suprunchik, of Dolgville, NY.
Her vehicle was ultimately located that same night by a Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Police say Suprunchik was not impaired at the time, but did tamper with her vehicle after the collision.
Among her charges:
- Tampering with Physical Evidence (F)
- Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident (F)
- Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident (M)
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree (M)
She responded to the SP Homer barracks on Friday (Oct. 8), then was brought to Cortland County Central Arraignment and Processing.
