Winterfest is Tomorrow at Greek Peak

John Harrison: [00:00:00] Good morning everyone. Welcome back to another edition of Peak at the Peak. It’s John Harrison in the Cayuga Health as part of Centralis Health System sponsored studios. And joining me over the line. As always, Jon Spaulding up at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. John, thanks so much for calling in this, uh, this Friday morning.

Jon Spaulding: Great to be on with you, John day number 79 of our ski season and, uh, looking great out there. I know we’ve gotten a little bit of rain, but it has not put a damper on the 56 inch base that we got out there right now, so.

John Harrison: Yeah, I was gonna, I was gonna say that, uh, that rain’s really gotta be putting in some work if it’s gonna stop all the great snowmaking and natural snow, uh, that you guys have been getting up there on the mountain.

The conditions have been amazing. Of course, you said, uh, day 79, right? I mean, that just blows me away every time I hear how far into this. Ski season. We are. And, uh, just how far ahead it looks like We can, we can keep going.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, I mean, we just talked about it. I mean, just, I mean, the forecast changes, but we’re, we’re gonna try to go till Easter, uh, April 5th, which would be a, uh, about 123 day season, so,

John Harrison: Wow that would [00:01:00] be incredible.

Jon Spaulding: Definitely the guest, the guests. Yeah, the guests would be loving that kind of season to give that many days on snow.

John Harrison: Yeah, that would be, that would be awesome to have, uh, that many days on the snow. And well, let’s, uh, you know, looking far ahead to, uh, to April and the end of the season, but let’s, let’s stay in the here and the now with this weekend as Winter Fest is coming up on Saturday, right?

Jon Spaulding: Oh yeah. And it kicks off. John, just so you know, um, if I can just divert your listeners away, you know, starting at 10 o’clock today, uh, Bridge Street, um, is being filmed live. From tracks, uh, today, and it’s a Greek peak power hour of sorts. So the WSYR Nine, uh, team is here and they’re gonna be, uh, you know, uh, doing the show live from tracks, uh, starting at 10.

Um, great, uh, information going on about Greek Peak and that segment. And, uh. We really had a great time with the, the SYR team being on here doing, um, the various segments to put that together.

John Harrison: Yeah. So our listeners can get a bit of a Greek peak, uh, double feature. They can, uh, you know, once you finish listening [00:02:00] to this edition of Peak At the Peak, folks, you know, why not check out the, the kickoff to Winter Fest again on Bridge Street.

It’s gonna be an hour of live broadcasting, you said. So that’s just, uh, so much fun. Great, great for the mountain. Of course. And, and getting all eyes on it. Uh, but let’s, let’s talk about Winterfest. Let’s talk about some of the great stuff going on. I know there’s the hide the tire, uh, contest, which I honestly might have to come up to the mountain and try my hand at winning.

Uh, just ’cause you’re gonna be winning four, uh, great snow tires, correct?

Jon Spaulding: Oh, yeah, yeah. So we, part of Winterfest this year, we’ve got a special, uh, contest brought to you by Young’s Tires. There will be a tire hidden up on the, uh, mountain somewhere. And, uh. First person to find it and bring it back down to the base.

Uh, we’ll get a set of snow tires, courtesy of Young’s Tire. So that’s definitely a highlight. Uh, but Winterfest is, uh, also sponsored by, uh, hierloom and, Hierloom will be, uh onsite all day, you know, hanging out swag and there’ll be some, uh, some sample sampling and things like that going on the deck. We got a DJ on the deck from noon to four.

Uh, we’ve got a demo [00:03:00] out on the snow, uh, burger’s, uh, ski and snowboard will be out there with some great brands like, uh, Dopelee, Rossi, K2, Uh just gonna be a great day of, uh, uh, winter fun and a celebration of what’s been a great season. Um, so we’re looking forward to Winter Fest. Um, more information on greek at greekpeak.net about that.

John Harrison: Yeah, winterfest is gonna be great folks, make sure you’re up on the mountain. Uh, really all weekend, but especially tomorrow, Saturday. Uh, now we looked to the very near future, right in uh, just about an hour you guys are gonna be on with Bridge Street. We looked to the close future tomorrow. Uh, but what about the, the distant future next year?

What about the 20, uh, 2026-2027 season pass? Is there anything you can tell us about that?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, uh that’s another great part of Winterfest is that we will be launching our, uh, 2026-2027 season passes, uh, starting this Saturday. Um, and everyone always asks me, when do you get your best price? On season Pass?

It’s now, and it’s a short window. So, uh, if you wanna get your season [00:04:00] pass for next year, um, starting, uh, on Saturday, uh, and through March 1st, you’re, you’re gonna get your best price of the year. Uh, we encourage you to get your season pass then, and for anyone who buys their season next year’s season pass, now they can ski for the rest of this season plus all next season.

So it’s a great benefit to buy now. Um, get out on the mountain and enjoy uh, you know, skiing all next year as well.
