Winter Weather Advisory Going In Effect Tonight Through Tomorrow: We Could Get A White Christmas

We could get a white christmas after all here in Central New York.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9:00 PM EST until Monday, 12:00 PM EST.

Snow and blowing snow expected. Snow will start by midnight. Plan on slippery road conditions. In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected. Tree branches could fall as well. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected.

Counties included in the advisory include,Cortland, Tompkins, Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tioga, Broome and Sullivan Counties.

On Monday, winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Scattered power outages are expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
