Winter Weather Advisory Continues Until This Evening

This Winter Weather Advisory has now expired.


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until Friday, 7:00 PM EST.

Mixed precipitation expected. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Friday.

Total snow and sleet accumulations up to around an inch for theTwin Tiers to Western Catskills, including Binghamton, Montrose, and Delhi; 1 to 3 inches in the Finger Lakes region to Cortland and Norwich; and 2 to 5 inches in the Greater Syracuse area toHamilton and Cooperstown. Ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected.

Cortland, Tompkins, Broome, Chenango, Onondaga, Yates, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Schuyler, Madison, Otsego, Tioga, Delaware and Sullivan Counties.

Light snow may begin late evening, but main wintry mix impacts will be late tonight through midday Friday. Wintry mix gradually changes to rain Friday afternoon to early evening.

Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.
