Wind Advisory Issued by National Weather Service – Gusts Up to 45 MPH


The National Weather Service (NWS) in Binghamton has issued a Wind Advisory for Central New York, including Cortland and Tompkins Counties. The advisory will go into effect at 4pm today (February 15th) and end at Noon tomorrow.

The NWS says winds could reach gusts of up to 45 mph. Strongest winds are expected during the overnight and early morning hours. Winds could blow around any unsecured objects and tree limbs could break, the NWS says.

Anyone traveling is asked to use extra caution when driving, especially when operating a high profile vehicle. Residents are also asked to secure outside objects.
