The William George Agency for Children’s Services located in Freeville has announced the organization has earned the designation of Premier Accredited Center by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.).

The William George Agency says they partner with individuals with special needs, and other, with certified professionals and equines to achieve health, wellness and learning goals. With the PATH Intl. status, William George says it proves the organizations dedication towards operating in accordance with almost 200 PATH Intl. standards for the equine-assisted services, or EAS industry. Only 250 out of 800 PATH Intl. members hold this specific designation, William George says.

“By attaining its PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center status, The William George Agency for Children’s Services, has demonstrated a commitment to the highest standards when introducing individuals with special needs to a variety of equine-assisted services,” said PATH Intl. Chief Executive Officer Kathy Alm. “PATH Intl. Accreditation is a respected benchmark in the EAS industry. It demonstrates leadership and a commitment to safety and to the highest professional standards.”

In order to become a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center, organizations must pass an evaluation by trained PATH Intl. site visitors. The evaluation would cover a large range of topics including: horse management, participant safety, equipment, quality of instruction, facility operations, volunteerism, and best business practices.

“We have been looking forward to becoming accredited by PATH Intl. ever since we began the process a year ago,” says Helen M. Hulings, executive director of The William George Agency for Children’s Services. “I am so proud of the work our equine center and facilities staff have done to get us over the finish line. This prestigious recognition underscores our commitment to excellence in therapeutic horsemanship and enhances our program’s credibility and potential impact. We are fortunate to have an equine center as part of our campus.”
