Whitney Point Woman Arrested For Controlled Substance During Traffic Stop in Cortlandville

An officer with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle just before 10pm on Friday, January 16th for no turn signal and improper plates. During the traffic stop, the Sheriff’s Office says officers determined the driver, identified as 34 year old Ashley K. West of Whitney Point, was in possession of a controlled substance.

West was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, a Misdemeanor, and several infractions including uninspected vehicle, unregistered vehicle, no signal lamp and improper plates.

She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released on an appearance ticket. West is due in Cortlandville Town Court next month.
