A woman from Homer Avenue in Cortland faces Felony Welfare Fraud, Grand Larceny and other charges.
Cortland County Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt Jason Newcomb tells us that 25-year old Veronica Dennison was arrested yesterday (Tuesday).
The investigation by Newcomb and Cortland County Social Services found that she failed to report her income and submitted fraudulent paperwork about her job.
Newcomb reports that Dennison received more than $2,600 in benefits she was not entitled to.
She was released to reappear in City Court at the end of the month.
