Cortland County Health Department has issued its weekly covid-19 summary for September 6-12.
During that time, there were:
- 242 new positive cases (including 81 fully vaccinated residents)
- 11 new hospitalizations
- 3 new deaths this week
*As noted during the week, a data review found 2 other previously unreported nursing home deaths that occurred in 2021, and the daily grid was updated to reflect this.
This week’s increase in case numbers coincides with surveillance testing activities being completed by colleges and K-12 schools.
With this increase, continued to urge the community to get vaccinated, wear a mask while around others, and get tested when you are symptomatic.
All confirmed positive cases are in isolation and contact tracing is ongoing.
Cortland County Health Department will report a county-specific weekly summary of COVID-19 data each Monday, excluding some holidays.
Daily data updates are still available on the Cortland County Health Department website every Monday through Friday. All weekend data will be included in the Monday daily update report.
An estimated 58.2 % of the Cortland County population aged 12 and older are fully vaccinated (an increase of 0.5% from last week).
