Volunteers are being sought by Catholic Charities of Cortland County for their Summer Lunch Program for children in the Cortland Community.
The program works to reduce child hunger by providing a consistent and nutritious meal during the summer when children are out of school and are not receiving school meals. Last year, the Summer Lunch Program was able to provide over 9,000 meals to children in need.
Additionally, Catholic Charities operates a weekly food pantry and is in need for more donations. Catholic Charities of Cortland County reports there has been a 92% increase in the number of visitors to the food pantry compared to this time last year.
