Around 1 in the morning on Saturday, July 22nd, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Route 215 and Starr Road in Cortlandville for a reported single vehicle crash.
After officer’s arrived, they began their investigation into how the crash occurred. While interviewing the driver, 44 year old Melessa S. Bieling of Virgil, officer’s were able to determine Bieling was driving while intoxicated.
She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, multiple traffic violations. Bieling was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Processing and later released on her own recognizance.
Bieling is due back in Cortlandville Town Court later this week.
