On Sunday, April 16th, around 7:45pm, a call came in of a one vehicle crash on South Hill Road in the Town of Virgil, the vehicle being a 2022 SSR side by side.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with emergency personnel from Virgil Fire and TLC Ambulance. A helicopter was requested, but later canceled.
The operator of the ATV, 54 year old Bryan A. Richardson of Virgil, was traveling West on South Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle and was ejected. Richardson died from injuries he sustained on scene.
The Cortland County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene after Richardson was pronounced dead by EMTs. Additional details on why Richardson crashed have not yet been released.
