Virgil Fire & Rescue crews were called Saturday (June 5) afternoon to a subject who had been run over by a backhoe on West State Road.
Multiple units responded just before 3:30 pm, immediately closing the road and beginning life-saving care to the patient on scene
A Cortlandville engine was requested in order to establish a safe landing zone. Dryden ambulance crews helped load the patient into the aircraft.
The individual was flown to an area hospital for additional evaluation. No other details are available on their condition.
Further investigation is being led by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
