The Village of Homer is asking you, what would you do with $10 million dollars? Currently, the village is once again aiming to be the winner of the downtown revitalization initiative for 2022 for the Central New York region of the state. The village says this is not just for officials, but is a community-wide effort to display Homer and why the village deserves the $10 million dollar investment.

If the village receives the funds they would be able to be used for a wide variety of public and private projects, and the village wants your input and ideas as they develop the application. Two public meetings will be held, one virtual and one in-person. The Village of Homer also has a survey up and asks residents questions about what they like about Homer, improvements it needs, and what they’d like to see.

The first meeting, which will be virtual, will take place on Thursday, September 1st and 7p. The meeting will provide more information on the DRI project and will give the public an opportunity to share ideas on the future of Downtown Homer.

Next will be the open house meeting on Wednesday, September 7th at the Center for the Arts from 4 to 7pm. The meeting will provide information again on the DRI and those who attend will have an opportunity to discuss ideas one-on-one with village representatives.
