Village of Homer Holding Public Hearing Tomorrow Evening For CDBG Grant Application

The Village of Homer Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing prior to their meeting tomorrow event at the Homer Town Hall. The public hearing is in regards to the village’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the 2025 program year. Administered by the state’s Office of Community Renewal, nearly $24.2 million is made eligible through the CDBG program through the 2025 CDBG program with $20 million specifically available for public infrastructure projects; the remaining is available for housing, economic development, public facilities, and planning activities.

The Village of Homer looks to secure funds through the CDBG program and will apply for up to $2 million towards construction of a “much-needed” Newton Waterworks Water Tank. The village says the hearing will provide further information on the CDBG program, including progress towards beneficiary goals, program objectives, and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals.

More information on the public hearing tomorrow evening may be found online at VillageOfHomerNY.gov.
