Village of Homer DPW to End Spring Brush Pick-Up – Residents May Drop-off at Compost Site

The Village of Homer has announced the Department of Public Works (DPW) will end their curb-side brush pickup after May 1st this year. Residents will still be allowed to take their brush to the compost site located at North Fulton Street.

The DPW provides leaf and brush pick-up twice a year with one in Spring and the second in the Fall. The compost site is open everyday from 7am to 7pm. The site is only open for Village of Homer residents. Signage is in place to direct residents on where to put composting materials.

The site does not accept trees, but only branches. Anyone who brings in debris in plastic bags is asked to take the debris out of the bag and take home the plastic bags.
