Village of Homer Compost Site Reopens Following Amnesty Day
The Village of Homer Department of Public Works says the compost site on North Fulton Street is now reopened following Amnesty Day. Hours the lot is open for the fall season is from 7am to 7pm. Residents may drop off garden debris, grass clippings, leaves and branches from tree trimming and storm damage.
A reminder to residents, the compost site does not accept trees, but only branches. Any debris residents collect in plastic bags are asked to ensure those bags are taken home with them and not left at the site. The compost site is only for use by Village of Homer residents. Signage is posted on where to put composting materials.
