Village of Homer Announces Upcoming Amnesty Day, Leaf/Branch Pickup

During the Village of Homer Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday night, the board announced the upcoming Amnesty Day as well as when leaf and branch pickup will begin within the Village of Homer.

Amnesty Day will take place on May 18th from 8am to 3:30pm. The day is only for village residents and residents will be required to show identification. The event will take place at the village’s composite site on North Fulton Street.

Items to be accepted are likely to be similar to last fall’s Amnesty Day, which includes white goods such as stoves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, metal wasters, and lumber or anything made of wood.

Any item that may contain refrigerant must have a certificate of purging included. Items that will not be accepted include: tires, TV’s, microwave ovens, computers, batteries, or any type of garbage.

For leaf and branch pickup in the village, the village DPW will begin making rounds starting on April 1st through the 30th.
