The Village of Groton will be applying to the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council for the $4.5 million dollar NY Forward Grant. With this, the Village is hosting a public meeting this evening from 4 to 6pm at the Benn Conger Inn at 206 West Cortland Street in Groton.
Applying and being awarded the grant is a community wide effort and the village wants residents to participate on why the village should receive the funds. If Groton is awarded the grant, money would be used for both public and private projects in downtown. The public meeting will be an opportunity for residents to give their input and ideas on what they would like to see as the village works on the application.
During the public meeting, more information on the NY Forward program will be available and residents will be able to speak one-on-one with village officials. Residents may stop by anytime between 4 and 6pm.
