Fatal Ithaca Fire Victim Identified As Long-Time Senior Resident

Officials in Ithaca have identified the victim of Monday night’s (September 9) fatal fire on East Buffalo Street.

Eighty-one-year old Sondra Hull was a long-time resident of the Ithaca area.

She was the only person occupying the three-story residential building when it caught fire and quickly became engulfed in flames. The blaze would eventually grow to four alarms and draw 35 Ithaca Firefighters.

The fire and resulting death of Mrs. Hull are being investigated by the Ithaca Police, The Ithaca Fire Department and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.

At this time, no foul play is suspected.
