Firefighters arrived within minutes to 6252 Stevens Road to a light smoke condition.

While on the way to the fire scene Homer Fire Engine 502 slid off Cold Brook Road into a ditch. No injuries were reported, but it did put the engine out of service to respond. It was later towed out.

Firefighters then entered the home to find heavy smoke.  Fire was found in the basement and floor and was extinguished.

No injuries were reported and no reported cause of the fire at this time.
