Vehicles Hit By Gunfire in Harford; Sheriff Deputies Make Quick Arrest

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office yesterday (May 1st) responded to the Town of Harford where several vehicle owners stated their vehicles were hit with gunfire.


In a release, deputies say they responded to Route 200 in Harford to investigate a criminal mischief incident. Several vehicle owners told police their vehicles were hit by bullets. One vehicle was occupied at the time.

Deputies after investigating were able to determine that Billy Jack Foster Jr, age 28, of Marathon, had fired the shots.

Police executed a search warrant at 55 State Route 200 where he was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies tell us firearms were secured from the residence along with controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Jail for processing and was arraigned in Central Arraignment and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled for his next appearance in the Town of Harford on May 4th.

At this time this investigation is still pending and additional charges may be filed.
