Both New York State Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) and Assemblymember Anna Kelles (AD-125), along with PULP, are hosting a public open house next Thursday, January 18th from 4 to 7pm at the SUNY Cortland Student Life Center at 8 Pashley Drive in Cortland.
The open house will be on utility debt relief; it will be a workshop that will help utility customers check if they’re eligible for any type of utility bill relief programs including NYSEG Energy Affordability Program monthly bill discount, HEAP, and other financial assistance.
Residents are asked to bring the following items with them for the open house: their utility bills, a form of identification, a copy of their benefits award letter from HEAP, SNAP, SSI, or anything else (if they have one), and proof of income if not yet applied for HEAP or SNAP.
Residents who attend will learn if they’re eligible for various debt relief options and be connected to programs to reduce energy bills this winter. There will also be free application assistance.
Later on in the month there will also be a public open house for residents living in Tompkins County; the open house will be on Thursday, January 25th from 4 to 7pm at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center at 301 W. Court Street.
