The upcoming Cortland County AG/Planning and Environmental committee will meet this Thursday, October 13th at 10am at the County Office Building at 60 Central Ave. in the City of Cortland.
One of the items on their agenda is to purchase 4 transit buses. The reason for the request of purchase is due in part to a need for Cortland County to increase the Federal Section 5311 Mass Capital Transit bus ratio.
The committee however looks to save money by purchasing four pre-owned buses from neighboring Oneida county. Currently Oneida has 2 2017 Ford E450 Cutaway Transit Buses and 2 2015 buses of the same model.
All the buses have less than 100k miles and are still within the NYS useful life span guidelines.
The cost of the four buses would be 10% of the current market value with a cost of $5,700 dollars.
