United Way for Cortland County Launches Campaign For 2026

The annual campaign is underway now with this year’s slogan ‘Stronger Together, Forever Cortland. United is the Way.’

The United Way has been busy getting geared up for the campaign and have added a brand new fundraiser for the Cortland County Food Pantries.

Executive Director Kristina Thelan says the United Way asked food pantries the top food needs, “When we called around to ask, what is their most sought after items, the top two for most of them, were pasta and sauce and so we decided to really focus in on that this time around with the food drive.“

The drive is happening now with many local businesses having collection boxes, and will culminate in the Fall Day of Caring on October 17th where you can also donate pasta and sauce. The United Way this year added a Fall day of Caring to help give back more with different non-profits and organizations. This year’s Fall Day of Caring is October 17th at the Cortland Community Learning Garden, located at 27th South Ave., from 9 to 5. The United Way is looking for volunteers and supplies.

The Gas & Grocery giveaway is also returning and the United Way says it’ll be bigger and better than ever. For more information on the United Way for Cortland County and how to get involved visit Cortlandunitedway.org.
