The 2018 Cortland County United Way campaign is nearing its conclusion.
Executive Director Cristella Yonta joined us Thursday morning on X101 to announce the winners of the Gas and Grocery Gift Card Giveaway and to update the fundraising effort.
Yonta said, “We are at 79% of our goal, still creeping higher as the days go on, trying to get as much as we can so we can fun all those great programs in the community.”
There’s still time to help put the campaign over the top.
“Some people worked in Onondaga County, Tompkins County, Broome County,” said Yonta. “If they’re donating in those worksites, we’re getting those reports in of what they’re donating from outside of our community to come back to where they live.”
Grand prize donor incentives were awarded.
A $500 Gas Card went to Terisa O’Gorman of the YWCA, and $500 in grocery cards to Kitty Lowden of Ames Linen.
“The best part is calling everybody and telling them and they’re so excited to know that their name was pulled in our drawing. So, thank you to everybody for their support,” said Yonta.
