Overall, the unemployment rate for Cortland County continues to decrease when compared to last year’s numbers. Currently, the county has an unemployment rate of 3.1%. This is a 1.7% decrease when compared to last year which was at 4.8%.
The updated information comes from the New York State Department of Labor. The State’s area unemployment rates rely in part on the results of the Current Population Survey, which contacts approximately 3,100 households in New York State each month.
