Two more events are slated to occur after the Common Council voted to approve special event permits for both events.

The first event is for the Empire State Classic 4-mile Run at SUNY Cortland on July 29th. Organizers submitted a special event permit and a street closure application. Cortland Police, Fire, and Public Works Department along with the City Clerk’s Office reviewed the application and recommended the approval. The street closures will consist of Broadway from Warren Street to Pashley Drive from 10am to 10:15am.

The second event approved is slated for Saturday, September 9th, and will be the Treating Disorders 5K Fun Run at Suggett Park in the City of Cortland. This special event application included a sound device permit application from 9am to 11am. The application was also reviewed by City Police, Fire, Public Works, and the Clerk’s Office, with each giving their recommendation.

The council voted unanimously to approve both special event permit applications.
