Two McGraw Residents Charged After Domestic Incident – One Pushes Officer; Resists Arrest
Around 4:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, November 9th, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident at 3 Church Street in the Village of McGraw. After officers arrival and while they conducted their investigation, 32 year old Jenna J. Chesebro, and Daniel J. Vanvalkenburgh, both of McGraw, intentionally obstructed officers from conducting their investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office says Chesebro then intentionally pushed an officer while Vanvalkenburgh was failing to comply with officers and resisted arrest. The incident occurred while in the presence of a child.
Chesebro was arrested and charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Misdemeanors, and Harassment in the 2nd, a Violation.
Vanvalkenburgh was arrested and charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd, Resisting Arrest, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all Misdemeanors, and Harassment in the 2nd, a Violation.
Both were transported to the Sheriff’s Office where they were processed and then turned over to the Cortland County Jail. They were later arraigned via the Centralized Arraignment Process and released on their own recognizance. Both are due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
