Two Harford Women Charged With Animal Cruelty

On Saturday, May 6th, after an investigation conducted by the Cortland County SPCA, two women from Harford were charged with two counts each of animal cruelty.



The investigation determined a dog belonging or that was being cared for by the two, was severely emaciated without proper food, water & shelter. The dog, whose name was “Lightning” , was surrendered to the SPCA.

The two women, 67 year old Sandra R. Snavely and 41 year old Esther I. Snavely, were charged with one count each of Failure to Provide Proper Food and Drink to an Impounded Animal, a Misdemeanor, and one count each of Appropriate shelter for dogs left outdoors.

Both were released with appearance tickets and are expected to return to Town of Harford Town Court next month.
