Two Freetown Women Arrested During Traffic Stop – Officers Find Meth
Just before 1 in the afternoon on Friday, February 21st, a traffic stop was conducted on McGraw Marathon Road in Freetown by an officer from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. While the vehicle was stopping, the Sheriff’s Office says their officer observed the driver and passenger switch seats.
An investigation found the initial driver of the vehicle, identified as 28 year old Samantha Conklin of Freetown, didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Conklin was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Officers arrested and charged Conklin with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, a Misdemeanor, and numerous traffic infractions. The other occupant in the vehicle, 25 year old Mariah Coughlin of Freetown, was cited for Permitting Unlicensed Operation.
Conklin was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and later released on an appearance ticket. Both women are due in Freetown Town Court next month.
