Two Free Snowmobiling Weekends Announced – Waives Registration For Out-of-State Snowmobilers
There will be two upcoming free snowmobile weekends for any out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers. During the two weekends, the state will waive registration fees for any out-of-state snowmobilers. The two free snowmobile weekends will be February 28th through March 2nd and then March 7th through the 9th. The weekends are designated to encourage riders to come to the state and ride over 10,000 miles of snowmobile trailers within the state.
“New York State is fortunate to have many snowmobile clubs, counties, and municipalities who do great work to groom and maintain our trail network, ensuring a smooth ride and a safe, enjoyable journey for all. Our trails offer a thrilling escape into winter wonderlands—winding through pristine forests, across snowy fields, and offering breathtaking views at every turn. It’s not just a ride, it’s an adventure leaving visitors eager to return again and again and explore more of what the Empire State has to offer.” Said New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Pro Tempore Randy Simons.
Those interested in participating in the free weekends must operate a snowmobile that is registered within their home state or province and must carry any applicable insurance as required by law. The free weekends are announced to help boost tourism for the state and in local communities.
