Two Arrested After Domestic Incident in Homer – One Kicks Officer


Just after 7 in the evening on Tuesday, April 23rd, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist Officers with the Homer Police Department for a domestic disturbance at a residence on Albany Street in the Village of Homer. An investigation by officers found Dennis F. Lowden Jr. of Homer, had intentionally damaged a door window by smashing it.

Officers arrested and charged Lowden Jr. with Criminal Mischief in the 4th, a Misdemeanor. As officers were attempting to take an Lowden Jr. into custody, another person, identified as 22 year old Brianna C. Brown of Homer, interfered with the arrest by kicking an officer from the Sheriff’s Office.

Brown then attempted to flee before being taken into custody herself without further incident. She was charged with Resisting Arrest, a Misdemeanor, and Harassment in the 2nd, a Violation.

She was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and later released on an appearance ticket. Brown is due in Homer Town Court next month.

Lowden Jr. was taken to the Homer Police Department and then transported to the Cortland County Jail and held for Centralized Arraignment.
