Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, October 27th, the Tully Fire Department was dispatched to the Burger King at 5697 Route 80 in Tully for a reported structure fire.
As fire units arrived, they requested assistance from neighboring departments. Homer Fire was requested for the ladder truck and Otisco Fire was requested for additional apparatus.
The restaurant was completely evacuated due to the smoke condition inside. Otisco Fire assisted Tully firefighters on rooftop operations. Homer Fire was eventually canceled.
Tully Fire says all units were back in service within an hour of the call and the scene was turned over to Onondaga County Health Officials. Tully Fire says an investigation showed it to be a malfunctioning rooftop exhaust fan.
