TSA Recruiting at Ithaca Tompkins International Airport

The TSA is recruiting new officers at Ithaca Tompkins International Airport with multiple recruitment events during this month to help reach their hiring goal before a busy spring and summer travel seasons.



“This is a rewarding Federal job that offers annual opportunities to see healthy salary increases,” said Bart R. Johnson, TSA’s Federal Security Director for the airports in Upstate New York. “Opportunities for professional growth are endless, and new hires will be performing a vital role in the protection of our country.”

Both full-time and part-time positions are available at the airport with a starting salary of $36,821 dollars for those hired before July 2023. A starting salary increase is expected for July at $37,696 dollars. For TSA workers who have worked at the airport for over one year, their salary will increase to $46,245 dollars and after two years to $57,117 dollars.

A recruitment table will be set up at the airport on Friday, January 20th and then on Tuesday January 24th and 31st from 10am to noon in the airport lobby.

No previous work experience in security or law enforcement is required and extensive training is offered to all new recruits at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and will be paid during the training period.
